Mot de Bienvenue / Invitation to attend

On behalf of Notre-Dame de Secours University Hospital, I thank you for attending the second annual "Hopital Info" Conference, which will address this year the topic of "Biomedical Ethics".

This conference will explore specific dimensions of bioethics and provide a general review of ethical issues that occur in contemporary clinical practice.  Aimed at providing health care professionals with a basic introduction to the frameworks and skills needed for resolving ethical issues within their institutions, various themes will be presented by our Keynote speakers and discussed thoroughly with the audience. 

All healthcare workers, academics, medical students, health administrators, ethicists, legal professionals, spiritual caregivers, researchers and interested members of the general public are invited to share their insights.

The objectives of this conference are:

1. To help us recognize the challenges of bioethics in Lebanon, and assess the impact of novel reproductive and genetic technologies on our society's future.

2. To help health care professionals better identify the basic issues that can arise while providing care for patients, as well as gain a deeper understanding of how ethical principles and frames of reference can improve caregiving by physicians and nurses.  

It is hoped this meeting will, above all, bolster our commitment to the dignity of human beings, and lead us to uphold our values and professional integrity as we interact with patients and their families. So welcome to the conference, and enjoy the event.
